The Restaurant Mathias Dahlgren is an exclusive à la carte restaurant that offers two different dining experiences which complement each other through the dual concept of ”Matsalen” (The Dining Room) and ”Matbaren” (The Food Bar).

Mathias aims to create a new Swedish identity – a theme which not only resonates through his offering in cuisine but also through every detail of the restaurant’s design, a result of leading British Designer and Creative Director, Ilse Crawford’s interpretation. A new menu is presented on a daily basis, which makes it possible to offer the customer the very best in fresh local and global ingredients and products of the day.

Mathias Dahlgren is a well-known profile in culinary Sweden and also awarded as a chef. He is the only Swedish chef to win the prestigious contest “Bocuse d’Or”. He is also the only chef in Sweden to have been selected “Chef of the Year” four times by the Swedish trade magazine “Restaurang & Storhushåll”, in 1997, 1999, 2002 and 2004. In 1996, Mathias Dahlgren opened the restaurant Bon Lloc in Stockholm, which gained a Guide Michelin star in 1997.

Awards 2009

Matsalen at Mathias Dahlgren was granted a second Michelin star in the 2009 Michelin Guide; Matbaren was also awarded a prestigious star. In addition to being awarded a coveted two-star Michelin Guide rating, Matsalen was designated four of five possible black "knives & forks", indicating the total level of comfort and service. Matbaren has been designated one red "knife & fork", given only to particularly pleasant establishments.

Mathias Dahlgren also debuted on the renowned list "The S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants".
