The Cadier Bar

A genuine bar

The Cadier Bar is an international cocktail bar. In the relaxed environment, experienced bartenders serve drinks from every corner of the world. A selection of bar food is also available. The Cadier Bar, named after the hotel's founder Régis Cadier, is a popular meeting-place, for the guests of the hotel as well as for discerning Stockholmers.

One of Stockholm´s best meeting places
will soon be bigger and better

The Cadier Bar, in its present form first opened in the mid 1980s. Over the years the fine reputation of the Cadier Bar has spread, establishing it as the place to see and be seen in Stockholm. Now we are rebuilding and redesigning this Stockholm landmark to enlarge and improve whilst retaining its special ambience and character.

The new and improved Cadier Bar opens in October and will be the perfect place for guests to enjoy an à la carte breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea plus evening cocktails in a relaxing atmosphere. The Cadier Bar will remain open during the entire remodelling project.

Tidbits

A genuine hotel bar always has a special atmosphere, wherever it may be in the world. It is a place for meetings, home-sickness, solitude, one-to-ones, daydreaming and people-watching, especially when the bar is located just next to the lobby, where people are always coming and going. The Grand Hôtel's own Cadier Bar is just such a place, with the right character and ambiance.

The Cadier Bar as it looks now was created in the mid-1980s when a part of the French Dining Room and the hotel lobby were detached to create a large and elegant bar with a fantastic view over the harbour, Old Town and Royal Palace, perhaps the best view from any hotel bar. Space was also set aside for a piano, and patrons can now enjoy relaxing piano music four evenings a week. A number of large seating groups also help to create a relaxed, intimate atmosphere.

The new bar was named after the Grand Hôtel's founder, Régis Cadier. It was an obvious choice. From day one, Régis Cadier established the Grand Hôtel as a haven for lovers of good food and wine. He lived for a while in nextdoor Bolinderska Palatset, now a part of the Grand Hôtel, where he moved into the apartment once occupied by L. O. Smith, a Swedish 19th-century liquor baron.

Since opening, the Cadier Bar has received a long series of awards for its range of drinks, atmosphere, location and skilled bar staff. It remains a very popular meeting-place for the hotel's guests as well as for discerning Stockholmers.
