Oscarsalongen is a perfect venue for a small dinner party. It can also be combined with other rooms to create more space for larger events.
Oscarsalongen was originally called Läsesalongen, the "Reading Room". It was opened together with the rest of the Grand Hôtel Royal, the brainchild of Wilhelmina Skogh, who was hotel manager at the time. The room was soon renamed after Oscar II, the king who opened the Grand Hôtel in 1874. A reminder of this is the beautiful portrait of the king that still hangs over the open fireplace.
